JOB DESCRIPTION:
FOR IMMEDIATE HIRE – MULTIPLE POSITIONS
Successful candidates will join a smart team of doers who work passionately to ensure systems work as specified and will transform the Canadian Army’s experiences. We are currently looking for Senior Systems Integration and Test Engineers to join the System of Systems (SoS) Integration and Test team at General Dynamics Mission Systems – Canada. You will work as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team that has adopted an Agile framework, so you will take part in Scrum events, Sprint reviews, and work collaboratively with our program teams and customers. These positions are based on-site in Ottawa.
In this role, no two days are the same! Working primarily in a lab environment, you can expect to:
• Develop test plans, test cases and procedures, and test methods for system verification tests
• Innovate with test methods, create automated test programs, and design and participate in validation tests in the lab and field
• Set up and configure radios to develop a test case or investigate a problem.
• You will work side-by-side with the customer in an Integrated Product Team environment and interact with software engineering, systems engineering, and management teams
• This position will include working with Networking and routing, VLANs, Microsoft applications, radios, voice and data networks, and various automation, troubleshooting, and simulation tools (Robot Framework, Wireshark, VCCI, CORE, VBS).
Qualifications
• 10+ years of practical experience including relevant co-op work terms or internships with a focus on integration and verification of complex electronic systems at a system level (design, development, and verification)
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Science or equivalent in a related technical degree/diploma supplemented with applicable experience.
• Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
• Experience with communication systems and technology
• Experience in defining, developing, and executing system tests
• Familiarity with Ethernet communications, networking, VLANs, Internet Protocol (IP)
• Knowledge of system and qualification test fundamentals
• Must be a Canadian citizen who is able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment.
• Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations.
Ideally, you may also have experience in some of the following:
• Investigation, characterization, and resolution of complex defects
• Knowledge of Army structure, operational concepts, and systems
• Knowledge of Virtual Machines and Containers
• Knowledge of test automation principles
• Analysis and derivation of operational requirements into test documents
• Authoring high quality documentation
