JOB DESCRIPTION:

We have a new opportunity that is ideal for a self-starter looking to develop something original as part of our LandC4ISR project. You will be working with an experienced software team developing, deploying and testing software from scratch. The team gets to work with new technologies and collaborate with the DevOp’s team on building a pipeline for builds, deployment and testing.

As part of a small team, you will be helping to integrate a variety of applications and technologies to help shape and define the future of Battle Management for the Canadian Army. You will be working with a variety of technologies, exploring the use of both SQL and NoSQL databases, and integrating them with Battle Management Applications.

You will experience a diverse variety of tasks through all stages of the software development life cycle,your day to day will include:

  • Evaluating and prototyping different data messaging and storage technologies
  • Designing and writing interface adapters between different software packages
  • Helping to define data models for both transport and storage
  • Participating in Agile software development by attending daily standups, demonstrating new features, and helping to plan tasks
  • Working as part of a team to identify and solve issues as they come up
  • Participating in customer demonstrations
  • Developing automated tests for new and updated functionality
  • Contributing to documentation for the proposed solution

Essential skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or applicable scientific discipline
    Minimum 4 years of Software Development
  • Proven ability to develop software systems and interfaces
  • Proven ability to integrate software components
  • Experienced C#/.NET developer
  • Experience writing unit tests
  • Experience with messaging middleware (RTI DDS, ActiveMQ, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
  • Experience working with modern paradigms such as REST and web services

Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
