JOB DESCRIPTION:

Engineer or Senior System Engineer in Ottawa to lead the Software Applications Packaging team for the Land C4ISR Transition Software Support Contract (LTSSC).

In this role you will lead an agile development team responsible for the development and management of Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) artifacts used to manage and deploy system baseline Operating System (OS) and application software. You will be the Product Owner for the Packaging team, working with both the Headquarters and Mobile domain engineering teams to manage the creation of formal baseline configuration items.

Your role in more detail:

  • Lead an Agile Scrum Team by working with the team scrum master, customer representatives and program stakeholders.
  • Plan and coordinate team member workloads and estimates, team plans and schedules.
  • Populate, prioritize and groom the team backlog.
  • Provide technical leadership for development of work product in support of timely delivery.
  • Lead efforts to automate the task sequences and reduce turnaround times for development of work products.
  • Work with systems and software teams to coordinate timely delivery of artifacts to program test and integration teams.
  • Support and present at meetings with internal stakeholders as well as with the external stakeholder community.
  • Support the development and execution of task sequences, development process, and associated documentation.
  • Assume responsibility, ownership, and accountability for deliverables and work products.
  • Assume accountability for the quality of deliverables and work products.
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for meeting program commitments and achieving program milestones.

Team Impact

You will provide technical and team leadership, coordinate activities and represent the team and company at customer events and meetings. You will also have the opportunity to influence and drive the mandate to develop innovative solutions that will improve and upgrade the packaging of system baselines.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or software development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or applicable technical or scientific discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, planning, and coordinating team plans and schedules.
  • Experience with Microsoft System Center applications and specifically with SCCM.
  • Demonstrated capability of meeting commitments and delivering high quality work products.
  • Experience with Microsoft System Center family of components.
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Comfortable conducting presentations
